Harry T. Webster retired from the Canadian Government Public Service on November 14, 1995 after nearly 35 years in federal procurement activities primarily on behalf of the Department of National Defence, but also many other Departnemts including Transport, Fisheries, RCMP and many foreign countries through the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).

At the time of his retirement, Mr. Webster was Director General (DG) of the Aerospace, Marine and Electronics (AMES) Sector of the Department of Public Works and Government Services Canada (PWGSC). In that capacity, Mr. Webster was responsible for the PWGSC role in major complex procurement programs, as well as the service line manager for all Major Crown Projects being managed by PWGSC. As DG of AMES he was also responsible for the PWGSC offices in Washington, DC; London, England and Koblenz, Germany. Other Executive Level appointments held by Mr. Webster include the Director of Electronics Procurement, Procurement Director of the CF18 Project office, Director of the Canadian Arsenals Limited Privatization Team, Director of Aerospace Procurement and Director General of the Aerospace and Armament Sector.

Mr. Webster joined the Department of Defence Production in 1961 as a member of the Intern Office Program. He held progressively more responsible positions in the procurement field including several Major Crown Projects. As Director of Procurement of the CF18 project, Mr. Webster was responsible for all procurement activities of the CF18 Project Management office with staff in Ottawa and St. Louis, Missouri. He was also a member of the Senior Project Advisory Committee (SPAC) for almost all DND and MOT major crown projects. These included the Canadian Aerospace Systems Plan (CASP), Canadian Patrol Frigate, TRUMP, Light Armoured Vehicles (LAV), Coastal Patrol Vessels, DND's Helicopter Projects, and many others.

During his career, Mr. Webster was also involved in the Government's program of privatization of Crown Corporations and the management and operation of the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC).

Mr. Webster is a graduate of Queens University in Kingston (Engineering), York University in Toronto (MBA Program) and the National Defence College in Kingston. He is a member of the Professional Engineers Association of Ontario and has served on the Council of Advisors for AFCEA (Canada).
